"Add something to our human knowledge about nature"

In Sigean, scientific research has for objective to know as much as possible about the animal world, no matter what field is concerned : biology, ethology, physiology, pathology…
The vast territories offered to our animals : Chimps, antelopes, zebras, pelicans… reminds their natural habitats. These conditions attract many researchers, especially those specialised in behavioural movements.

Some research is carried out in collaboration with other scientific centres. Research agreements are regularly signed with universities, vetenarian schools or even with private companies. All work and study carried out at Sigean is agreed with the park's director. All work and study must be carried out without disturbing or changing the animals behaviour and without distressing the animal.

Some studies done in the African Reserve of Sigean :

"The social genesis and social organisation of European Mouflon"
"The sociospatial organization of Springbok"
"Bipedalism among flightless birds"
"Ethological study of a pack of eight hunting dogs"
"Ethological contribution to the introduction of 2 White Rhinoceros' (1.1) in a group of 3 individuals (1.2)"
